Durham residents can now receive additional help with their water bill. The State of North Carolina has awarded $38 million in federal funding to the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) to assist residents who are behind with payments or facing disconnection.
Residents are asked to call 919-560-8000 to schedule a virtual appointment or visit the Human Services Building at 414 E. Main Street to pick up a paper application. Additional details are available at www.dconc.gov/DSS or www.epass.nc.gov
